For more than fifteen years, their presence has left undeniable marks in the history of the world and the hearts of its people. Founded by the legendary bandits Feros, Drak and Lestat, the Dark Guards emerged from the shadows to claim the glory, wealth and adventure they yearned for. Proud, wild and fierce, their ranks grew. Strong and free spirited individuals, each with their unique skills, backgrounds, and stories, pledged allegiance to the clan, forging a brotherhood that went beyond blood ties. The three founders lead the clan as the Council of the Three Oms, there to always guide and keep them united, inspired by the ideals of the clan.
The defining values that unite this brotherhood, have echoed on every battlefield and every tavern, the loud roar – Death, Glory and Freedom! It instils fear in the heart of their enemies or inspires their allies with joy and courage. The Dark Guards’ reputation is built not only on their deadly capabilities but also on their unwavering loyalty to the clan. Their strong bonds hold the clan together and they wear the mark of it with pride – the Red Sash.
To wear the Red Sash is one of the most desired privileges in the Dragon world! Many have openly shown interest in acquiring one and becoming a member of this family. However, the love and respect each member shares for the Red Sash and every brother and sister who wears it, makes it so valuable, a symbol for everything they stand for. Each person who has proved themself worthy for the Red Sash underwent rigorous trials, honing their skills, their mental fortitude, and the ability to adapt to any situation. The Dark Guard’s territories span across diverse landscapes, from dense forests to treacherous mountain ranges to the west to the beautiful seaside to the east. They have named their nation Tamnogorie, after their first home. People live freely and prosperously under the protection of the Dark Guard. In turn, the clan is blessed with strategic advantages, trade roads and riches beyond imagination. The clan’s influence reaches even the most remote corners of this world and beyond, into different realms of existence.

What it means to be a Dark Guard
The Dark Guards are a notoriously chaotic gang of rogues and thieves, who are united by their love for freedom. They would always follow their whim and let their desires carry them on their path. They are as likely to break into song and dance, and gather a large rowdy party around them, and at any moment turn it into a tavern brawl or a massacre, if that serves their purposes. Despite their unpredictable spirits and temperament they have built an old and famous (or infamous, depending whom you ask) clan. More than that, they have stayed together for over fifteen years as an unbreakable unit, even when separated by time, land or even planes of existence. They are a brotherhood and family, and their ties run thicker than blood. They are bound by love and mutual respect. The Dark Guards are a colourful bunch, everyone bringing their own personality to the rich palette of the clan. They celebrate each member’s individuality, and encourage each other to be more of themselves, their true selves, making the group vibrant and unique. Most of the members are passionate and impulsive, and emotions are intense, but that’s how they like it, to feel life with every fibre of their body when they are together, and share it – the good and the bad.
All that being said, one does not build and topple empires without some sort of order. The Dark Guards have a set of unspoken code between them that every member instinctively understands. These are not strict rules and laws but more of a belief system, guidelines of how to be a Dark Guard and embody the clan’s values. To the external onlooker they might seem confusing and complicated, even contradicting ideals. For example, they are known to be the loudest and most boisterous clans at times, but then also they could be silent and precise, undetected and unnoticed if it serves their purpose. They could be merciless to the enemies of their cause but then show compassion and empathy, and even willingness to help those in need. They take what they want, without excuse but they never shy away from giving whenever they can, always sharing with their friends and allies. Their emotions might change quicker than a summer storm might hit but they have learned to use their temperament to their advantage. They always follow their own truth, their passion is the fuel of the fire that drums within their hearts. They guard their beliefs and fight for them, even die for them, yet, they would never enforce them. They believe in the equality of people, and their right to live life freely. The Dark Guards strive to preserve the balance of the world. They pursue their own brand of justice, which leads them to selectively target those who abuse their power, exploit the weak, or threaten people’s freedom. They ensure that their targets deserve the punishment they mete out, avoiding contracts that involve the innocent, even if that would bring them wealth. Their belief in balance transcends mortal politics. Time and time again, The Dark Guard has laid their own lives on the line for the natural balance of magic without hesitation, whenever chaotic cataclysms would tear the world. They have travelled far and wide, among the planes of existence, and met creatures of all sorts and shapes. They have learned much, gained and lost tons and still remain true to themselves, incorporating the wisdom they have acquired into their beliefs. The brotherhood values the preservation of the balance of nature and its magical creatures. Members actively work to protect forests, mystical beings, and the natural order of the world.
